Stream- Woodsmen: Woodsmen (Show TONIGHT)

Denver (mostly) instrumental wanders Woodsmen are always good for a rollicking, heady trip of an LP. Their latest effort is self titled and, as always, put out on resident evil genius Trevor Peterson’s Firetalk label. It contains the murky kraut grooves and celestial noodling that put them, along with bands like Wooden Shjips, at the forefront of a movement without a name. It is less shimmering than their last LP Rare Forms and has a bit of a muscular Cave-esqe feel to it. They have guitars, so they aren’t ambient, but they aren’t really a jam band either. While you are trying to figure out what tabulated corner of your musical brain they fit into, they are busy locking you in and pulsing hypnotic grooves through your veins. Woodsmen shows that multiple LPs in they still have plenty of tricks up their sleeves.

Stream below the LP, which officially comes out tomorrow (2/4), and catch them tonight at the 7th Street Entry with Vacation Dad, Robust Worlds and Wavepool. Don’t miss it.
