I have been listening to the Alex Bleeker and Mountain Man cover of the unreleased Girls track “Oh Boy” for the past few weeks, but it took seeing this lo-fi video to finally get me off my ass and post about it. The song, like most of Girls material, is a morose and depressed love song about something, or someone, who has gotten away. While Bleeker’s strained and somber vocals match up nicely with Christopher Owens originals, the addition of the stunning vocals from the ladies of the avant folk group Mountain Man really push the song over the top. The song, filmed and recorded by the excellent Chocolate Bobka site, will be coming out as part of their ongoing The Report project that the site puts together.
