Parc Avenue, the breakout record from Canadian band Plants and Animals, was easily the album I thought was most underrated from the 00’s. The under appreciatedLP, which ended up in my top 10 albums of the decade, showed a band talented beyond the recognition they received and really knocked me out the first time I heard it. Songs like “Bye Bye Bye,” “Good Friend” and “New Kind of Love” still cause me to stop each time I put them on the stereo. The last time the band came here, there was literally about 25 people at the 7th Street Entry. Luckily, the band will be returning, this time to the much larger Varsity Theatre on April 26th. They will be supporting their new album La La Land and my fingers are crossed that the crowd will be much bigger. Those 25 people would look even more sparse at the spacious Varsity.
