In case we are literally the only music site you read (Thanks!), you might have missed the first song from what is assuredly going to be the hyped beyond recognition sophomore album Congratulations by MGMT. It is weird and more obtuse than “Time to Pretend,” which was many people’ s intro to their debut album, but that probably was planned by these hip art kids. I would imagine the actual album will feature more pop hooks than this song, but maybe they have decided to take all of their money they collected getting famous and use it to extend a giant middle finger to conformity, which would actually be pretty cool. Only time will tell.
