Slate Reviews Pavement’s Quarantine The Past
Though Troy Patterson is probably one of the best writers over at Slate Magazine, his recent piece on the new Pavement compilation Quarantine the Past doesn’t really ring with the author’s usual clearheaded wit. The explanation can only be that Patterson is a True Fan (why else would the television critic be reviewing an album compilation?) whose breathless enthusiam for the band has outrun the speed of his pen. Still, as far as reviews of Quarantine go – this is probably one of the best that you will find. While it may not be accessible to anyone with only a cursory knowledge of the hugely influential indie rock band (Texas Never Whipers, Debris Slide…what..?) your other True Fans it doubtlessly won’t disappoint.
