Turbo Fruits: Volcano

I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one blown away by the Turbo Fruits raw energy (and drunken theatrics) last night at the 7th St. Entry. Here’s a sample to give you an idea – “Volcano” is a single off of the band’s 2007 debut. Sure, the track is pretty much just about getting waaaay stoned (“What do you do call it when you get so stoned you don’t even know how to believe…volcano / What do you do call it when you get so stoned you forgot it’s Christmas Eve…volcano” etc etc) which would wear thin as a concept pretty fast if it wasn’t backed up by some talented but gritty musicianship (particularly incredible drummer Matt Hearn). As an anthemic paean to the fine art of getting unbelievably fucked up – it is pretty damn good.
