The song “No Summer” by No Joy deftly straddles the line between ominous and optimistic. The shoegaze guitars come crushing in waves, with a delicate melody cutting them down and the vocals, while sounding distant, still give off a sweet and redeeming quality. The song is part of the two song album that the LA/Montreal duo are giving away for free in a nice gesture that I am not so sure will be very profitable.
