Local Natives: Wide Eyes (Fools Gold Remix)
I have a love/hate relationship with Fools Gold and Local Natives, meaning I love Fools Gold and hate Local Natives. So needless to say I approached Lewis Pesacov’s (Fools Gold) remix of a Local Natives track with mixed feelings. I was suprised to hear pretty much all vestiges of both bands’ sounds stripped away though in what amounts to a pretty run-of-the-mill club anthem that features Oakland rapper Aristotle Pop a Bottle. I can’t say that the remix is worse than the original, since I didn’t care for the original much to begin with.
