Bight Club “Hot Fuss”
Bight Club wanted to make sure in the press email that we knew they didn’t sound like other Minneapolis rappers. For anyone who has seen the band live or heard their material, this shouldn’t come as a surprise, but they still wanted to make sure. “More Stankonia than Lucy Ford,” is the exact phrase the group used. While I like Lucy Ford, I was definitely intrigued to hear if they live up to their own self described sound. I will give them that it doesn’t sound like other hip hop artists in the current scene and leave it to you to decide if you think that is a good thing or not. These guys are legit and something different than the mpls status quo, great to see live. I heard Christy Hunt booked these guys for the chaing banger on sunday, that tells me the buzz on these dudes has some cred.
