Brute Heart “Blindfolded”
The ladies in Brute Heart blew the doors open on the local music scene with their excellent debut Brass Beads in 2009 and they are finally back with their highly anticipated sophomore release. Their new album, titled Lonely Hunter, is going to be released on May 31st on the Soft Abuse label, home to bands such as Pigeons. The first song released from the record is the track “Blindfolded,” which finds them continuing on with the traits that helped make their debut so enjoyable. There are the cryptic rhythms, bouncing strings and dark but melodic vocal harmonies, all combined with a Eastern European sentiment that makes such an enjoyable template. While their debut record got some decent attention in the Twin Cities (at least we loved it here at Reviler), the groups new record and support from a label should find them attracting a much bigger audience, which will be much deserved.
