I have been waiting for a full length from Pure X (changed from Pure Ecstasy ) ever since I first heard their soaked in effects pop on the amazing single “Easy,” which was one of my favorite songs of 2010 and made them one of the bands I thought most likely to break out in 2011. There have been EP’s and random 7″s, but the group finally announced today that their debut LP, Pleasure, will be dropping in July. The first song the band released from the album is the slow, hazy pop number “Back Where I Began,” which isn’t as instantly commanding as some of their older material, but has a smokey, timeless feel that has grown on me with each listen. In addition to the good news about the record, the band also announced they will be coming to the Twin Cities on May 27th for a show with Sleep Over at the 7th Street Entry, which has “can’t miss” written all over it.
