Husband and Wife duo Handsome Furs are back with their third LP, following the really great Face Control LP, which was one of my favorite albums of 2009 (and is holding up quite well). Their forthcoming Sub Pop LP, Sound Kapital,is apparently a record written entirely on keyboard, which is evident on the first song from their new record, the dark synth jam “What About Us.” Dan Boeckner is one of my favorite songwriters of the last 5 years, so if anyone can pull off a keyboard/synth record inspired by 80’s Eastern Europe, it is Dan (and Alexi). The record drops June 28th.
