The Don Isaac Ezekiel Combination “Ire”

For the third round of the always great Strut Records produced Nigeria 70’s compilations the group is back with the record Sweet Times: Afro-Funk, Highlife & Juju. The group was kind enough to release a song, “Ire” by The Don Isaac Ezekiel Combination, which helps to preview the record. The song is a gritty, understated groove that helps to show the driving sound that has made the groups previous releases so good. The charging number is spiced up mid song with a flute solo, which I was not expecting. Looking forward to hearing the whole record as these releases are generally pretty great top to bottom.
