Crystal Antlers “Summer Solstice”
Crystal Antlers have been a hit or miss group over their short existence, with their debut EP really knocking me out and their subsequent work seeming to lack the fire that made that record so great. The first song off of their new record Two Way Mirror, “Summer Solstice,” doesn’t really clarify where their new material will land. The track is a burning, brooding song that builds slowly at the start and reaches a thunderous, and sustained, crescendo about halfway into the song and never looks back. While good, it doesn’t compeltly win me over that they are back to how great they were a few years back, but I will keep an open mind as I dive into the entire LP.
