Ganglians “Jungle”
While they don’t get the attention that some of the other Woodsist bands get, Ganglians to me have always been one of the best bands circulating the scene. Their last LP, Monster Head Room, was a great take on the spacy but grounded, reverb heavy jangle pop that has percolated so much in the last few years. “Jungle,” the first song on their forthcoming Still Living LP, out in August on Lefse Records, finds the band in great form. The guitars and vocals are dripping wet with reverb and the melodies are gigantic, with soaring vocal harmonies bringing the whole track together. If the rest of Still Living is this good, look for the band to finally start getting the attention they deserve.
