Thundercat: “Daylight”
Thundercat is Steven Bruner, a Los Angeles jazz/electronica artist whose debut record was produced by Flying Lotus. While simply the ‘produced by Flying Lotus” bit is enough to set the blogs aflame, hopefully Bruner’s music gets recognized in its own right. While his orchestrations certainly share in FlyLo’s jazz and electronic experimentation, Bruner’s sound is probably even more jazz oriented than his peer, and based on this single, also far less dark.
