Toro Y Moi “Saturday Love”
After throwing fans for a loop earlier this year with the electro-funk LP Underneath the Pine, Toro Y Moi is back with another round of retro synth dance tracks, this time with the EP Freak Out. The first song from the EP, “Saturday Love,” is a cover of a song by Alexander O’Neal & Cherrelle that continues Chaz Bundick metamorphosis away from chillwave and towards 80’s electro pop nirvana. If Underneath the Pine was hard for you to swallow, don’t even hit play on this one. Check out Bundick and his band on Sept 25th with Unknown Mortal Orchestra at the Triple Rock Social Club.
