A lot of electronic instrumenatl music skews to the darker side, so when a band like Cankun can find a way to fuse an incessantly positive vibe into the jam, it will definetly catch your ear. Coming from their recently released tape of the same name that is out on the great Not Not Fun label, the guitars literally shimmer and the world beat drums are a great juxtaposition. The result is a track that finds that medium between the distant vaccum of some instrumental music and the mindless self gratification that can easily make this type of song sound cheesy and vapid.
