Crimes Good Hope LP Release show Saturday
Local group Crimes describe their sound as “dreamy garage” music, and I would add a large dollop of alt country to that mix. The group is releasing their debut LP on white vinyl (in its “intended form” in their words) and you can hear about half of the tracks below courtesy of the groups bandcamp page. The songs are dark, melodic and crawl out from underneath a foggy haze that loiters over and around each track. The songs sound kind of like if My Morning Jacket or a more chilled out Ryan Adams tried to channel the laid back, reverb soaked vibes of Beach House. The band recruited Teenage Moods and Leisure Birds for a solid release show Saturday night at the 7th Street Entry, where you will be able to pick up the record.
