Village Of Spaces: "Albumen Ovum"
Village of Spaces is a duo out of Maine consisting of Dan Beckman and Amy Moon O.S. They collaborate on elegantly low-fi baroque and psychedelic tunes that evoke both old world Americana as well as sixties/seventies British acid folk (along similar lines to what can be found on Gruff Rhys’ Welsh Rare Beat series). Beckman and Moon recently released an LP on Corleone Records called Alchemy and Trust. You can listen to the excellent first track off the record here (which also features Clare Hubbard (Caethua) as well as Andy Neubauer) and if you dig it come out to the Modern Times cafe on Monday morning (at 11am) where Village of Spaces will be performing. Dark Dark Dark’s Nona Marie Invie will also be performing as Nona and the Choir, which should make for an excellent pairing.
