Chalk: “Hotflash”
Stumbled across a few gems the other day courtesy of Miami producer Chalk’s soundcoud page. Can’t really find any info about the guy other than that he’s associated with the Miami dubstep scene but his musical styles vary across hip hop, dub and grime. Chalk seems to have a great deal of respect for the late great J Dilla and the influence shows in the breadth of his sampling pallette as well as the dexterity of his beats. Those are some mighty big shoes to fill but still, Chalk just might be one to keep an ear out for.
