Beyond “Untitled V”
I am currently in the depths of what more educated people than myself call “the flu,” which of course means I am tired as all hell and pumped full of medicine. While I wouldn’t suggest it to others, my slightly wonked out persona at the moment really worked well as I dove into the new Beyond tape No Man Moves, which is out now on Moon Glpyh. Beyond is a solo side project from J. Shaver of the great Deep Earth, so it is no surprise that songs are 4th dimension space jams that are both soothing and frantic. You can hear the track “Untitled V” below and peep the glitchy groove and haunted synths that unwind over the course of the nearly seven minute track. While the track just about sent me into lucid dreaming with the medicine I am on, I am going to venture to guess it will be just as good once this passes, another example of the great synth wizardry coming out of the Chicago scene.
