Dirty Three “Rising Below”
I’m not certain if calling Dirty Three “legendary” is hyperbolic or not, but I’m going for it nonetheless. The legendary Australian instrumental trio are back with their latest album, Towards The Low Sun, their first LP since 2007’s self-titled LP—and the record is the band’s first effort on Drag City. “Rising Below” continues the band’s elegant, if disjointed, take on melodic instrumental pop music, with Warren Ellis and Mick Turner’s wistful melodies breezing lightly above Jim White’s sparse percussion. The highly anticipated Towards the Low Sun drops next month, so look for a Reviler review in the very near future.
