Sun Araw, M. Geddes Gengras & The Congos “Happy Song”

I’ve only gotten hip to RVNG Intl’s FRKWYS series in the last few months (via the ambient synth mega-team #7 and the cosmic collab of #8), but since then I’ve been digging back and finding out how great the series is. While catching up has been fun, it also looks like their future is just as bright. The forthcoming #9, which brings together ambient wanderers Sun Araw and legendary reggae vocalist The Congos. You can hear a snippet of the results below on “Happy Song,” which nicely melds Sun Araw’s broken-down noise with soulful, reggae-tinged vocals. We’re really excited to hear this whole record—keep an eye out for (better late than never, right?) reviews of older installments of the FRKWYS series in the future on Reviler.
