Jim And The French Vanilla “Unlucky”
If you are at all familiar with the Blind Shake, you may find Jim Blaha’s side project Jim and the French Vanilla something of a surprise. In contrast to the Blind Shake’s pulse-pounding garage/punk energy, Blaha’s solo act is more of a buttoned down folk/psychedelia act. It generally just features Blaha on the guitar unaccompanied save for a heavy swath of reverb. “Unlucky” is the first single off of Blaha’s forthcoming album II, and it features a simple foot stomp beat, a few chords, and Blaha’s mildly distorted vocals. Have a listen below and if you are into it, look for the full length album from Modern Radio next month.
