Video: Skoal Kodiak “Tomah Triangle”
I guess after you release a record on Load you’re no longer considered a scrappy local band. Nonetheless, I still was surprised to see a what seems like an “official” video from the guys in Skoal Kodiak. Coming from their sophomore LP, Kryptonym Bodliak, “Tomah Triangle” is the stomping electro kraut that the band has called their own for the last half decade . . . now with some equally unsettling video footage attached! Hooray!
If the song itself doesn’t leave you feeling rattled, watch some cars sliding uncontrollably down an icy hill and someone drinking behind a foggy camera, sticking their head under the grates on the stove, and lapping from a dog dish. If the band were going to make a video, I am glad it was at least this weird.

For a video to be titled “Official” I think the band has to have some hand in it. That wasn’t the case here, this is more of a unexpected out of the blue video by a friend in California. The song is however about treachery on the road on 94 in Wisconsin on your way through the Tomah triangle. The altitude is lower and is prone to whiteouts and fog, also a magnet for collisions with deer. – B.M.
