Father Murphy: “In The Flood With The Flood”
After getting excited about the upcoming Xiu Xiu/Dirty Beaches show at the Triple Rock (May 19th) I decided to look into the listed opener Father Murphy. The band is an Italian trio comprised of Reverend Freddie, Chiara Lee, and Vittorio De Marin. From what I can tell from this single “In The Flood With The Flood,” they play brutal experimental/industrial noise that sounds a bit like Neil Young on acid trip in some kind of futuristic trash compactor. I kind of like it! I only wish that the show were any other night since my desire to see Yamantaka // Sonic Titan the same night will probably keep me from seeing most of this show.
