International Novelty Gamelan: “Origami Flotilla”
This post is more or less to celebrate the fact that local Gamelan ensemble International Novelty Gamelan are now on bandcamp where you can stream all of their albums for free. If you haven’t heard them before, they are a large group of musicians that perform in a traditional Indonesian musical style, with a bit of their own style thrown in. Their most recent album, Menagerie, seems to have just came out a few days ago. Have a listen to one of the tunes below and you can always hit the bandcamp up for more if you are interested. Also, if you enjoy Gamelan music, there happens to be a free performance tonight at the University of Minnesota of students of the style.
