Wyland Miles: “Don’t Ask This of Me”
I greatly enjoyed Secret Seven Records’ last In A Cloud compilation, so I was pleased to hear that follow up, In A Cloud II: New Sounds From San Francisco will become available this July. The compilation features some of the best and brightest artists from the Bay Area music scene. From the look of it, part II will feature a number of the same artists (Ty Segall, Kelley Stoltz) but there’s also a new crop of faces. Technically, Wyland Miles also appeared on number one, but it was with his band the Fresh & Onlys. In this instance he appears solo in “Don’t Ask This of Me,” a melancholy throwback pop tune (somewhat along the lines of the early ’60s crooners, but with a bit of country blues).
