Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra: “Onze De France”
French band the Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra may have “Latin” and “Afro” in their name, but from the sound of their newest single, “Onze De France,” maybe they should add in “Funk” somewhere too. The new tune is a thoroughly funky jazz inflected affair that takes a traditional Afro/Latin sound and adds in some thumping bass rhythms and crazy jazz flute. The band’s new LP Last Odyssey will be dropping on 7/17/12 on Ubiquity Records, and should definitely make for an interesting listen.
