Introducing: Lust For Youth
Italy’s Lust For Youth (aka LFY) has been releasing records for the past couple years as duo before losing a member to become the now solo project of Hannes Norrvide. Growing Seeds is Norrvide’s first solo full lenght under the name. The influences are pretty easy to hear; opener “Behind Curtains” starts with a lo-fi version of classic New Order before before the echoing vocals enter. “We Planted A Seed” takes on a little more Throbbing Gristle before descending into noise and right back into some classic synthpop sounds. “Cover Their Faces” adds more clanking 80s industrial to the mix. Despite any overt references though, Growing Seeds keeps things interesting straight through. While we may never see LFY on our side of the world anytime soon, this record deserves to make it over us. Recommended.

Dear Adam, nice review but the project comes from sweden and not from italy. It just happened to come out on Avant! Records, which is an italian label. I’m sure this was on the press sheet 🙂 cheers
Thanks for the correction Andrea. I did this from the bandcamp site I stumbled across, so no press sheet to give me any facts…
