Introducing: Seyah

Seyah are a local ambient R&B duo who clearly have listened to, and learned from, the dusty melodies and bombastic beats of groups like The Weeknd. The group, made up of Nicholas Larkins Perez and Tess Weinberg, deconstruct R&B music to its chilly roots.  On tracks like “Sleeping Beauty Part One,” streaming below, the duo mix a James Blake like “post dubstep” dirge with a spooky, almost Knife territory collaboration of percussion jangles.  The vocals are delicate and soft, floating effortlessly on top of the rigid and jarring music, creating a dynamic final product.  The group is celebrating their new EP titled EP No. 1 tonight at the 7th Street Entry with Sophia Eris, Lizzo & The Larva Ink, Phillip Morris, and DJ Connie Hawkins.
