Divine Fits “My Love is Real” + “Would That Not Be Nice”
“Super Groups” are often bloated excuses to do half the work for twice the profit, but not always. Judging from the first two tracks from Divine Fits, the new group featuring Britt Daneil of Spoon and Dan Boeckner of Handsome Furs/Wolf Parade, this isn’t going to be one of those duds. The bands website says that the singers split lead vocal duties, and the first two songs releasesd give a taste of each. In a fantasy world where I picked bands, I honestly think a Daniel/Boeckner combo would be near the top, and if the rest of the album has the rankled fury that the first two songs do, this might live up to my dreams. Can’t wait.
