Falcon Arrow “Unray”
I really thought Falcon Arrow’s last LP Axehandle Hound was underrated, and hearing a new track from the band made me return to the record, which only confirmed this point. The duo are putting together a follow up LP, which is at this time untitled, but dropped an unmixed song to their soundcloud page recently. The track continues what the group does so well, which is combine relentless drumming with heavy, melodic bass lines. The songs aren’t so heavy as to lose their base, but would never be lumped with other instrumental music that is more for the head and less for the heart. The group pump life into a genre that can be stoic at times, and it seems like their forthcoming LP will be venturing out into new territories, with “Unray” layering even more sound than ever into the track.
