Mount Eerie “I Walked Home Beholding”
There is something about the music of Mount Eerie (a Phil Elverum project) that seems like it was meant for an art space. His Mount Eerie work is dark and intensly reserved, and his latest effort Clear Moon is as heavy and emtionally jarring as his previous (heavy and emotionally jarring) material, meaning that it is better than 95% of the rest of material released this year. Phil and company are playing tonight at the CO Exhibitions in Northeast Minneapolis, the art space run by the Burlesque of North America dudes, in a show stacked with some solid local support (Myrhh, Jim and the French Vanilla and Les Ourses). Listen below to the brittle “I Walked Home Beholding” and don’t miss this great show tonight.
