Halasan Bazar: “Figure It Out”
Not only did (formerly local) label Moon Glyph make a big geographical change this year (moving to California) they are also going international! The label just announced the release of a new tape by Danish baroque/psychedelic pop group Halasan Bazar. The tape, How To Be Ever Happy, features two singles available for download over at the Moon Glyph site. While both are good, I prefer the lush, slow-building “Figure It Out,” which features a complex palette of dreamy instrumentation and ethereal chanting, complimented by frontman Fredrik Rollum Eckhoff’s druggy lyricism (at one point he croons “I will eat your mind.” Check out the tune below and if you dig it you can pick up a copy at local stores such as the Electric Fetus, Hymie’s and Treehouse Records.
