Cloud Nothings Live Video + Bloodnstuff “Give Me a Call”
Leave your ironic Yaz T-shirt with the sleeves cut off at home this weekend, you stinky hipsters. Sunday night at the Amsterdam is set to bring a revival of the fuzzy guitar sounds that defined the 1990’s, represented in different forms by a local group (bloodnstuff) and a national one (Cloud Nothings). The later venture into the more melodic, Built to Spill territory while the former is a duo that strip away any frills and pound the listener with thick riffs and soaring melodies. The subtlety of Cloud Nothings is matched by the audacity of bloodnstuff, both of which you can experience below. First is a live video of Cloud Nothings from the Pitchfork Music Fest and below that is the jam “Give Me a Call” from the recently released bloodnstuff LP. If good old fashioned, non ironic guitar rock is your deal, bust out your ragged flannel shirt and head down to the Amsterdam this Sunday. More info on the show HERE.
