Stream: Mark McGuire: Nightshade & Surrogate Channels
Mark McGuire is known both for his work with the amazing drone/ambient trio Emeralds and for his prodigious and compelling solo work. His Living With Yourself LP wavers slightly, but for the most part has a permanent spot in my all time favorite records list, so any project he is part of I am game to check out. His previous output was limited run CD-R’s and tapes, but he has ventured into the 21st Century by setting up a bandcamp page, which seems to be a perfect vehicle for a prolific artist like McGuire. If you have an hour or two, strap on your headphones and your kaleidoscope goggles and zone out with the two latest McGuire guided adventures. I hope it goes without saying, but if you dig his work, buy the digital record and support his great work.
