Bleached: “Next Stop”
I very nearly saw Bleached last winter at the 7th St. Entry, in what in retrospect was a really bizarre bill. Veronica Falls, Cate Le Bon and Bleached filled the bill, and I came for Le Bon and neglected the other two bands. It really is a shame though because it turns out Bleached is pretty good. Formed by L.A. sisters Jennifer and Jessie Clavin, the duo plays sunny California pop rock along similar lines to the likes of the Girls Dum Dum but with a slight punk edge that reminds me more of Shonen Knife. Bleached’s debut Ride Your Heart will drop this April on Dead Oceans, and hopefully with it will come another chance to see the band live. I won’t make the same mistake twice.
