Parquet Courts; “Borrowed Time” (And Local Show)
I have been a bit curious about Parquet Courts, ever since the Texas band’s second LP Light Up Gold came out early this year. The band (featuring two members of Fergus & Geronimo) plays upbeat slacker garage/punk that I think is best exemplified in standout single “Borrowed Time.” The tune features a catchy rhythm, well-timed pauses, and jangly, infectious guitar chords that pull off sounding sloppy without actually being sloppy. I think the band could potentially be a lot of fun live, which is why I am excited to check them out at the Triple Rock on 6/21 (w/BLNX).
