Chelsea Wolfe: “Warden”

West Coast songwriter Chelsea Wolfe has of late, been pretty productive. Her most recent album, the excellent Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs just came out last year and already the artist is following up with another.  Pain Is Beauty will arrive on September 3^rd via Sargent House, and though the name is a bit melodramatic, the first single off of it “Warden” is pretty good.  “Warden” eschews Wolfe’s recent acoustic guitar trend for a synth-based approach though the singer’s characteristic moody darkness is still ever-present. You can stream the track below and though it’s still a long ways off, you may want to mark Wolfe’s September 22^nd gig at the Cedar Cultural Center on your calendar.
