Stream: Wage Theft ‘Rituals’ (Show Tonight)
For their first pysical release, local noise-punk duo Wage Theft crammed six high energy tracks onto a limited edition CS. The first five tracks are two minute sonic freakouts of spazzy jazz-punk, an unrelenting barrage of angular guitars and pummeling percussion. The final song, “Misanthropy,” follows that same tract, but then ventures into a backwards looped noise tunnel that wobbles forward into a vacuum of dissonance. It is over in less than 20 minutes, and its infectious energy and white-knuckled intensity will have you circling back to the start.
