Live Video: Perfect Pussy at 285 Kent
For those who haven’t been completely sold on the hype surrounding the hardcore/punk band Perfect Pussy, or have somehow missed it, the live video above can serve as your introduction. The four piece have been warming hearts with their scuzzy but spirited cacophony of distortion and youthful energy one 15 minute show at a time, resulting in a groundswell of buzz over the last year. About a year ago they released the four song EP I have lost all desire for feeling to rapturous response, and tonight they bring their ruckus to the unwashed masses here in flyover country. Joining them will be a local band of similar sound, Miami Dolphins, along with Condominium, whose Sub Pop released 7″ last year was a coming out party of sorts for the group outside of Minnesota. The powerful three piece hardcore vets have a new LP dropping soon, so you may be able to let your ears bleed to some brand new tunes. There is not a weak link in this lineup. Don’t be late as you don’t want to miss any of these groups, and I have a feeling that filler songs and encores aren’t going to be the flavor of the evening.
