Hollow Boys: “Melted”

hollow boys believe in nothing This Summer the Hollow Boys have it all going down: new record, new tour, new video. And they sound pretty excited! We’re pretty excited to hear the new stuff too – and we got our first taste today in single “Melted.” It’s a big old slab of guitar distortion with poppy vocal harmony choruses and some sweet saxophone thrown in (you can listen to it and see the video below).  Though this and the rest of the tunes on the new record Believe in Nothing, were conceived in the dead of one of the worst winters ever, and are purportedly about “about coming to accept the meaninglessness of life and the void that follows death,” somehow “Melted” seems a lot less despondent than that description implies. It’s almost sounds…anthemic? And I mean that absolutely in a good way. The record will be out on Modern Radio on 8/5 and will be officially released at a show at the Eagles Club on 8/2.
