Introducing: White Boyfriend – ‘twins ep’ (Show TONIGHT!)
White Boyfriend are a quirky pop trio who released a two song EP last year titled twins ep, and apparently have a full length in the works. The twins ep has a slinky, funked-up pop feel, that is held together with strong songwriting and rich melodies. While carrying a medium-fi aesthetic, the song has a Why? like adventurous vibe that makes it showcase a new wrinkle each time you listen to the songs. The group have the double-whammy of the chops to write something pristine and the desire to scuff it up a bit with some righteous weirdness. If the EP is any indication, White Boyfriend are a band we will be hearing a lot more about in the coming months. You can catch the group tonight at Hymies for the all ages release show for the new Hollow Boys LP and later at Palmers for some more adult-oriented debauchery.
