Introducing: Bloodeath
Well this is definitely the harshest thing I have heard this week! And maybe all year. Bloodeath’s 4 song EP is a non-stop squall of frighteningly intense noise. Listening to it is akin to having your head smashed through a plugged in TV tube. Each song is a blast of electronic intensity – whether loosely structured around a beat as in “Scabies (in my Flesh)” or more freeform chaos. Once you get past the initial shock and terror of the sound, it’s actually a pretty cool listen: Bloodeath is a collaboration between local artist Makr and Slapping Purses, and each brings a lot of talent to the table. It isn’t easy to hear where one musician’s contribution ends and another picks up, but together Makr (Mark Mcgee) and Slapping Purses (Jason Power) certainly create something to behold. And just in time for the annual Halloween mix! Stream below and pick the EP up from Totally Gross National Product.
