Follakzoid “Electric”
A little bit of fuzzy, off-kilter krautrock can go a long way in the right hands, and Chilean trio Follakzoid seem to be the right hands. The first song released from their forthcoming four-song LP III is the slow burning “Electric,” which chugs forward under clouds of synths, with a quasi-motorik beat overlapping with driving guitar and bass lines. It clocks in at a beefy 12 minutes, but it never lags and I’ve actually circled back multiple times to start it over when it was done. Their LP is out in May on Sacred Bones, and it should be a scorcher.
