Software Recording Co. is a Mexican Summer imprint that was started by Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never, Games) and Joel Ford (Airbird, Games) to highlight the world of off-kilter electronic music, a space those two are very invested in. Starting with a release from their duo, Ford & Lopatin (previously Games), the label has been a consistent source of a wide variety of outsider, electronic-based music over the last few years. Their latest efforts can be sampled above, featuring the brittle-but-sharp electronic of Tairiq & Garfield and the more dramatic, opera-influenced electro pop of GABI. Both are lush and magnetic, but offer much different perspectives on the genre.
