Listen to the cosmic boogie of Moon Duo (Show Saturday in Minneapolis)
Moon Duo create the kind of kinetic, guitar-centric space-kraut that on its face seems simple and easy, but upon deeper listening is really a mess of delicious grooves and warped melodies. If you want just the surface level, the galloping drums and heady organ and guitar mixture will scratch that itch, but put on some headphones if you really want to go for a ride. Below you can hear the sinister non-LP single “Animal,” which will come with the LP, and the sludgy cosmic boogie of “Slow Down Low.” The whole LP is a thick slab of awesome, which you can soak in on March 3rd when it comes out on Sacred Bones, who are making a strong run for label of the year with their early 2015 efforts.
If you want to run the risk of letting the spiritual animal that is Moon Duo corrupt your soul (you should), you can see the band this Saturday at the 7th Street Entry with local support from Vats. Don’t miss this.
