Stream new LP of spooky electronic pop from Diva 93 (Show Saturday!)
We’ve long been intrigued by Jess Buns, the one-woman band behind Diva 93 and Dust Buns, so we are excited to see/hear new material from her. The latest is the haunted, foggy, lost-in-a-dark-alley synth pop stretched out over eight songs on the PUNISH/ABANDON/REWARD CS. While not totally minimalist, it is a streamline project of wheezy keyboard string patterns, stumbling pattern beats, Buns ethereal vocals and horror movie melodies that are all wrapped in a layer of eerie ambience. You can stream the whole project below, and buy the tape from the artist herself at live shows. She’ll be celebrating this release Saturday at the Hexagon with Breakaway, Homebirth, Well and 90’s cover-choir Murder of Bros: A Dudechoir (Facebook Invite HERE). Should be fun. As an extra bonus, any money Buns makes on the CS will go to the Sexual Violence Center to support their work to end sexual violence in Minnesota.
